This quote really shows how Heather cares a lot about image and attempts to mold Mary Fred into someone similar to herself. It also takes a glimpse into Heather's jealousy for Mary Fred and her almost instant popularity.
I completly agree! Heather becomes jealous of Mary Fred but she can only blame herself for that since Heather made Mary Fred popular by changing her clothes and telling her how to act.
