Book of Fred

"When Mary Fred finally had her meltdown that Sunday, that too was kind of a relief to me" (Bardi 58).

This was interesting because it seems odd that someone would be relieved about another person being upset. I think this was a relief to Alice because it made Mary Fred seem more human at the least. She had gone through some really traumatic junk still maintaining her composure, but really, she was just a kid. After that, Alice probably felt a little more comfortable around Mary Fred. Maybe even able to relate to her a little better.
