Clayton H. Greek Mythology

The first allusion to Greek mythology I found was the Medusa Cement Company. This is ironic because according to myth, if Medusa looked you in the eyes you turned to stone, or in this case: cement.

For my second allusion I used Trident gum. In Greek mythology, the god Poseidon holds his trademark trident which has 3 spikes on it. In Greek, Trident roughly means three-toothed, referencing to teeth and how Trident gym cleanses teeth. This could be how the product came about.

  1. One allusion that i found to greek mythology was the minivan called the odyssey, made by Honda. This alludes to the story The Odyssey, about a long journey.

Another Allusion I found was to the name of a computer virus called a "trojan virus". This virus is something you get on your computer that makes you think it is useful to you, but when you click on it, you receive the virus into your computer. This alludes to the story of the trojan horse, in which the Greeks presented a gift to the Trojans in honor of the their victory, but when the Trojans were asleep, the Greeks crept out from within the horse, and killed all of the Trojans.
